A Christmas Poem

When we hear the word family we usually think parents, siblings etc…, but as I have learned it goes well beyond that. My friend and neighbor opened up her home to me when I sold my coop and needed a place till I purchased my new home, I have known her daughter since she was six, their dog since he was brought home, whom I considered my baby as well as theirs, and Peanut seemed to agree. In looking for a new place, well those involved in that search etc.. have gone beyond their basic duty of service, so as we celebrate the season and the new year let’s look at those who have gone beyond the call to really help us when we needed it, given us a smile, kind word every day. if nothing else a prayer and a note to let them know we appreciate the extended hand might not be a bad idea.

Amen
